Imarn H Sarkar gets death threat on Facebook

Thereport24.com Correspondent, Dhaka:

Amid the mystery of recent killings of two foreign citizens shrouding all over the country, Dr Imran H Sarker, spokesperson of Gonojagaran Mancha, now received death threat through the inbox of his official Facebook page on Saturday.

Imram told thereport24.com “I got the threat from an ID ‘Araf Al Islam’ at 10:19am. But I saw it around 12:00pm.”

“I was threatened to be slain like two foreign nationals had been killed recently” he said.

Later Imran, in an update status on his Facebook page, said; “There is nothing to pay much heed to this threat, issued by some cowards. But, what is important now is to bring them to book. They are not only giving threats but also carrying out terror activities in cowardly way one by one.”

He was set to file a general diary (GD) with Shahbag Police Station in capital city in the afternoon.

Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of the capital city’s Shahbag Police Station, told thereport24.com any allegation is yet to be received by them.

“Legal actions would taken if Imran make any complaint,” the OC said.

Japanese national Kunio Hoshi, 66, was shot dead at Mahiganj village in Rangpur district on October 03 and five days after Italian aid worker Cesare Tavella, 50, was gunned down in Gulshan diplomatic zone of the capital city on September 28.

Both foreigners were slain in same way. Bike-riding assailants had been lurking in the vicinity, waiting for their victims, fired shots and fled the scene.

Islamist militant group Islamic State reportedly claimed the responsibility of both killings, which the government has rejected saying IS has no existence on Bangladesh soil.
